MYOFASCIAL RELEASE ALONG THE MERIDIANS

Myofascial release is a technique used to address tension and tightness in the fascia, a connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, and other structures in the body.

Through targeted pressure and stretching, myofascial release aims to alleviate restrictions in the fascia, promoting greater flexibility, mobility, and overall well-being.

"Our body is a gliding system, and that what is gliding

is our fascial system, when you feel stiff, your
gliding system needs some lubrication."

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE ALONG THE MERIDIANS

Myofascial release is a technique that targets the fascia, a connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, and other structures in the body. When fascia becomes tight or restricted, it can lead to discomfort, pain, and reduced mobility. Myofascial release aims to relieve tension in the fascia, allowing the body to move more freely and comfortably.

Meridians
Meridians are pathways in the body through which vital energy, or qi (pronounced "chee"), flows. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), it is believed that this energy flows through a network of channels or meridians, connecting various organs and tissues.

The flow of qi through the meridians is essential for maintaining balance and harmony within the body. When the flow of qi is disrupted or blocked, it can lead to imbalances and health issues. Myofascial release stimulates points along the meridians to restore the flow of qi and promote healing.

HOW IT WORKS?

Self-Myofascial Release: This technique involves using tools such as foam rollers, massage balls, or rollers to apply gentle pressure to specific areas of the body. By rolling over tight spots, you can release tension and improve circulation.
This class will
primarily use the Myofascial release techniques and adds only very few yin Yoga asanas into the sequence.

BENEFITS

Reduces Muscle Tension: By releasing tight muscles and fascia, myofascial release can alleviate strain on the spine and improve overall flexibility.

Improves Posture: Addressing fascial restrictions can help correct imbalances in the body, leading to better spinal alignment and posture.

Enhances Range of Motion: Myofascial release can improve the mobility of the spine, allowing for smoother, more fluid movements.

Promotes Flexibility: Yin yoga helps lengthen and stretch the spine, improving its overall flexibility and range of motion.

Releases Tension: By holding poses for an extended period, yin yoga encourages the release of tension in the muscles and fascia surrounding the spine.

Supports Relaxation: The slow pace and deep breathing in yin yoga promote relaxation, reducing stress and tension in the body.

Enhances Awareness: Yin yoga encourages mindfulness and self-awareness, allowing you to listen to your body's needs and respond accordingly.
